 If
you are like many island vacationers, you may want to have your car on
island. The Steamship Authority has year round ferry
service from Woods Hole, MA and seasonal ferries from New Bedford,
MA. To find out the rates, directions to their ports and to view
schedules, visit their website: http://www.steamshipauthority.com.

| Or, if you only need your
bike, there are two more ferry options that run seasonally. These are
the Island Queen departing from Falmouth Harbor and Hy-line
Cruises departing from Hyannis. Info on their schedules and

AUTO
RENTALS
You can bring your car over on
the Steamship Authority ferry from Woods Hole or you can rent a
car right here.
Our Island roads are generally
narrow and often have many sharp curves. During the busy months
auto drivers share Vineyard roadways with numerous bicycles,
mopeds, horses, hikers, joggers, deer, and gulls. Drivers should
remember that the roads are maintained for all.
Parking space on the main streets
is at a premium in the summer, so if you can, find a space and
keep it for as long as you possible can!
Please note that parking
regulations and speed limits are strictly enforced.

BIKE RENTALS
Biking is also a great
way to see the Vineyard up-close and personal. You can walk your
bikes onto the ferries for a modest fee. Bike rentals are
available by the day or week in Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, and
Edgartown. Many of these rental companies also offer child seats
or behind-the-bike child carts.
